Location: Kalasey Beach, south of Manado,
20 minutes by car from downtown, 1 hour from the airport.
The Resort is located in an amazing tropical garden with loads of
coconut trees and rare plants, native to the South-East Asian forests. |

The resort is composed of 10 wooden cottages,
built in the traditional Minahasa style (from the north of Sulawesi),
with bathroom, hot water, air conditioning, mini-fridge. |

From the cottage's terraces you can admire the
wonderful gardens and the stunning view over the Bunaken National
Marine Park. |

The interiors are simple and functional with comfortable
beds. The windows and a ceiling fan ensure a natural cool breeze if
you do not want to use air conditioning. |

Beds and other furniture are built out of traditional
materials, like the giant bamboo, from the Sangihe islands (North
of Manado) or from the Minahasa hills. The traditional architecture
influenced the interior. |

As well as having its own terrace, every cottage
has some space dedicated to your underwater video/photography equipment. |

The restaurant offers a wide choice of
Indonesian traditional recipes and international menus. |

The diving centre has a storage
room for the guests' equipment, it boasts a wide and breezy classroom
as well as a workshop for equipment maintenance, a video and DVD player.

souvenir shop is well equipped with traditional Indonesian handcrafts. |

The beach. Our clean sea calls you for a swim
every time. The house reef, in front of your cottage, offers a huge
number of fascinating subjects for macro photography. And you enjoy
a wonderful view over the Bunaken National Marine Park from the beach. |

The recently built swimming-pool is a pleasant gathering
point for après-dive relaxation.

Tanta Tina, our masseuse, is the heiress to the
ancient tradition of Indonesian massage, an art transmitted from mother
to daughter. Massages are available on request, directly in your cottage. |

Mapia Resort need not be expensive. We also care
for budget travellers who can now take advantage of our low-cost accommodation
in our new structure with 3 rooms. These Baley Mapia Rooms are simpler,
but have AC, ceiling fan and hot water. Two of the rooms, with bathroom
and living room in common, make up a mini-apartment. |
